Hey there , welcome to the wonderful world for two wheels.
I am styling on my 2000 CBR600RR ( also known as an F4 ).
When I bought this bike a few years ago it came fitted with sliders, I never understood why. The fairings were plasti dipped and also cut to accommodate the sliders. Speaking about plasti dipping , it was a lame spray on job that looked horrible. The previous owner covered up the beautiful black and yellow scheme with a full white Plasti Dip. I scrubbed and rubbed , peeled all that nasty off. Was a hell of a messy job but after I was done , I kept going. I used my heat gun to remove the hideous Honda yellow decal stripes and the rest of the decals. Straight black looked slick and I rode with it for a while. After about a week I sanding and primed my bike and laid down countless layers of varying rattle can red’s to give a gradient texture. Eventually I finished off by hitting the bike with a scheme of gold + silver + red glitter flakes over the dark red paint. Top off with a few nice clean layers of clear coat and I’m styling. Coloring the fairings red wasn’t enough so I decided to change the seat too. Went to my local Marine Shop and picked up some marine grade red color vinyl. Covering up an old bike seat is easier than replacing just the fabric in my opinion. Now my bike is almost all red. Heck , I even sprayed my aftermarket exhaust with high heat red paint too.
