Putting a lot of money in a motorcycle to customize it can be a big waste of money. On some of my past motorcycles I spent thousands of dollars in mods only to lose a lot of money when I sold the bikes. One motorcycle I spent 5k on and the bike only cost me 5k brand new and I lost a lot of money when I sold it. The Yamaha MT-07 has been out for a decade now. Although there have been some changes to the MT-07 over the years the engine has pretty much stayed the same with the same horsepower and torque. Meanwhile, we have a slew of new middleweight naked motorcycles that have more horsepower and torque along with a plethora of electronics. Recently, I saw a drag race video that raced the new middleweight makes bikes against the MT-07 and most of them beat it. That begs the question, is the Yamaha MT-07 outdated now? Yamaha has sold more than 160,000+ Yamaha MT-07’s since 2014 and no other motorcycle even comes close to this. So how did Honda respond? Honda created the all new Honda Hornet CB750 that beats the Yamaha MT-07 in nearly every category on the spec sheet and is even $300 cheaper to boot!
