We all make mistakes, nobody is perfect. However, making a mistake on a motorcycle can get you killed or hurt really bad. I made some mistakes throughout my riding motorcycles for over a decade. I’ve been on YouTube for over nine years and made some mistakes over the years, luckily, I walked away from most of those mistakes unscathed. However, there was one mistake, a crash, that I got hurt pretty bad but made it out ok. I learned some great lessons over the years, hopefully, you can learn from the mistakes I made over the years that I will share with you in this episode.

Why old motorcycles are better….

I’ve owned some of the newest motorcycles over the past few years. I owned a 2017 Aprilia Tuono v4 1100 factory that is nearly the same bike as the newest 2021 model, I owned a 2016 Ducati XDiavel S that is about the same bike as the 2021 model and I recently owned a 2020 Yamaha MT-09 that I just sold weeks ago. What do all these newer bikes have in common? Many of the old motorcycles are actually better than many of these new motorcycles!

The PROBLEM I Have With Motorcycles Now

The problem I have with motorcycles now. Watch video to see!

I’ve owned a lot of different motorcycles over the years, some slow and many fast bikes. My favorite motorcycle out of all of them is my custom 2019 Yamaha YZ450FX supermoto that I made street-legal. Over the years I’ve come to realize that fast 1000cc+ superbikes and other types of motorcycles can be overkill out here on the streets and it really is more fun riding a slow bike fast than riding a fast bike slow. Although I love all motorcycles in some or another I truly enjoy the torquey smaller bikes on the urban city streets the most, especially my 450cc supermoto.

Do you want to have a lot of fun riding a motorcycle on street but don’t want to speed like crazy? Of course a supermoto is the most fun you can have at slow speeds but if you don’t want a supermoto and looking to still have fun without going crazy fast than you need to be looking for motorcycles with the most torque at the lowest RPMs you can find.

Torque is the engine’s rotational force, the pulling power that makes ripping the throttle off the line fun. A motorcycle with a lot of pulling power will excel your excitement when riding on the streets. Like the saying goes, grip it and rip it!
