Motorcycle enthusiasts are always looking for the next new motorcycle that will be better. However, are these new motorcycles really that much better than the old motorcycles we loved? Some people like myself are realizing that old motorcycles are better in many ways compared to the new bikes.

Why old motorcycles are better….

I’ve owned some of the newest motorcycles over the past few years. I owned a 2017 Aprilia Tuono v4 1100 factory that is nearly the same bike as the newest 2021 model, I owned a 2016 Ducati XDiavel S that is about the same bike as the 2021 model and I recently owned a 2020 Yamaha MT-09 that I just sold weeks ago. What do all these newer bikes have in common? Many of the old motorcycles are actually better than many of these new motorcycles!

Recently, it was announced that the once popular supersport motorcycle Yamaha YZF-R6 has been discontinued. Supersports and super bikes are severely losing popularity these days. It’s the end of an era where people who wanted a really fast bike got a super sport or super bike to ride on the street.

However, times have changed and supersports and super bikes are no longer the motorcycles most people want for street riding these days.
