It’s the end of an era where people who wanted a really fast bike got a super sport or super bike to ride on the street.

However, times have changed and supersports and super bikes are no longer the motorcycles most people want for street riding these days.

2019 Yamaha YZ450FX Supermoto Review 2 Year

2 Year review of my 2019 yamaha YZ450FX supermoto

It’s hard to believe that over two years has passed since I first bought a brand new 2019 Yamaha YZ450FX that I converted to a street-legal supermoto. I have learned a lot after owning a pure race dirt bike converted  for supermoto street use, it has it’s pros and cons like everything else. I’ve had a ton of ups and a few downs, but mostly all ups that I wouldn’t trade for the world

Supermotos are such amazing machines because they allow you to do a little bit of everything in a lightweight torquey wheelie machine package that is very easy to ride and inspires confidence. They are also cheap to insure and easy to work on. Imo, a supermoto is the most fun type of motorcycle that you can ride and I’ve ridden most of the major types of motorcycles including powerful super bikes, sport bikes, dual sports and muscle cruisers.

How to get out of a tank slapper.

If you have ever experienced a tank slapper aka “death wobble” on your motorcycle you’ll likely never forget it. A tank slapper can be a very scary experience.

A tank slapper is where the motorcycle can violently shake at speed that can lead to loss of control of the bike and could result in a crash. There are various things you can do to prevent and control a tank slapper.

The Motorcycle EVERYBODY Should Start On

My opinion on the best starter motorcycle.

Many people always ask me what is the best motorcycle to start on or can they start on a 1000cc superbike or possibly a 600cc supersport motorcycle. Most of those people who want to start on fast bikes don’t realize just how much trouble they can get a new rider into and dangerous to their health.

I humbly started from the very bottom on a 178cc Chinese scooter and then worked my way to a Honda cbr250r, cbr600rr, cbr1000 and then other fast bikes but eventually went back down to slower bikes because they are more fun on the street.

Ducati makes beautiful motorcycles that are fun to ride and full of soul. I have great admiration for Ducati motorcycles BUT there are things that make Ducati suck.

I owned a Ducati motorcycle and really enjoyed that motorcycle but there were problems that I hated.

Some motorcycle riders are snobs, they think are better than you because they ride more miles than you, they ride a specific motorcycle brand that is better than your bike, etc. I’ve been called a poser because I don’t have a ton of miles on my motorcycle. Lol
