It’s hard to believe that over two years has passed since I first bought a brand new 2019 Yamaha YZ450FX that I converted to a street-legal supermoto. I have learned a lot after owning a pure race dirt bike convertedfor supermoto street use, it has it’s pros and cons like everything else. I’ve had a ton of ups and a few downs, but mostly all ups that I wouldn’t trade for the world
Supermotos are such amazing machines because they allow you to do a little bit of everything in a lightweight torquey wheelie machine package that is very easy to ride and inspires confidence. They are also cheap to insure and easy to work on. Imo, a supermoto is the most fun type of motorcycle that you can ride and I’ve ridden most of the major types of motorcycles including powerful super bikes, sport bikes, dual sports and muscle cruisers.
