Riding a motorcycle with no gear is more fun?

I know some bikers that have been riding motorcycles for decades and never wore any motorcycle gear such as a helmet and protective gear and never got hurt. Many of these bikers not wearing gear say that it makes riding a motorcycle more fun and that wearing gear takes too much time and makes it not fun to ride.
