Hey Dopleganger381! That is a beautiful bike you have. I like it. That looks like a cool bike to start on. It sounds like you went on a really nice bike trip. I did 11 hours on my bike and hated to put it away, many people think my bike would be uncomfortable on a long trip but it wasn’t. I hated to put it away. Welcome to the forum and I wish you the best of luck with your bike. Thanks for sharing!

Hey chad! Welcome! Cool to hear you are an ohio rider as well. You have all of the cool twisty roads down there in SW ohio. Have you had a chance to ride Rt 555?

@Holly- Hi Holly! Thanks for watching my videos! I appreciate it! Cool to hear you decided to get a motorcycle. You are smart to wait until you get gear before you ride and you are wise to start on a 250. You’ll do great, just focus on gaining the skills you need and ride safe.I wish you the very best and great luck with you new bike. Take care!

@Cali rider- Hi, thanks for following my videos! I appreciate it! If the 07-08 honda cbr600rr is well cared for and maintained, 30-40k miles is nothing. These bike can easily get 100k miles if maintained properly. I would get it checked by a mechanic before buying. Good luck!

    – Hi, yes the rear seat comes off and there is a small trunk underneath.I did a video on it way back, just go to my early videos when I had the cbr250r.

I was going to get a KLX250, nice bike. I like dual sports but you can’t really do to much with them where I live as there are no trails out here. Don’t worry about what people say, as long you are happy with your bike that’s all that matters. Really, for commuting a 250 is all that’s needed, the 250 does the legal speeds fine and you get great gas mileage. I enjoyed my cbr250r but I love fast starts and my 08 cbr600rr give me that rush of power off the line that I love. Not everybody desires speed though, as long as your bike meets your needs that’s all that matters. Enjoy your bike and ride safe! Thanks for posting!

@DBeav12- Yeah you can start on a sv650, but it will be heavier than a 250, usually you want a light bike to start on to help you gain the skills and confidence you need to be a good rider. It’s up to you what bike to start on.
Yes I ALWAYS wear ear plugs and can’t ride without them. I recommend wearing them unless you want tinnitus and hearing damage down the road..

Now that you mention a supermoto, yeah it does kind of look like a supermoto, maybe that’s why I’m so attracted to it b/c I like the look of supermotos. Supersports look much prettier but like I said in my last video when you ride the bike all that matters in the riding experience. This fz-09 meets a lot of the stuff I like to on a bike, such as it’s lightness, low end power, reliability, flick-ability and comfort, although I’m not a big fan of an upright seating position but on a bike like this that is expected. The only thing I’m concerned with so far is the electronic throttle, I prefer the old skool throttle cable.
